Ward 12 News and Events
Greetings neighbours,
As the days grow longer and signs of spring begin to appear across our community, I’m looking forward to a season focused on connection, progress, and listening to what matters most to residents. Spring will be a busy time as I’m hosting two events that might be of interest to you, and I’m excited for the opportunity to bring people together to share ideas, discuss priorities, and continue building momentum on the issues that affect our neighbourhoods every day.
Personally, my health-related challenges have continued and as I move through the healing process my attendance at indoor community events will be very limited. I remain available for on-site visits to address resident concerns and will continue working closely with community members to ensure your voices are heard and your priorities are represented. Thank you for your continued patience, support, and understanding as I focus on recovery while staying engaged with the work our community depends on.
Sincerely,![]()

Community Cleanups in 2026

Over the past 8 years I have both organized and attended various community clean-ups. I recognize as the snow receeds, garbage is becoming more visible across our community. It is both a health and environmental concern and not reflective of the pride we have in our neighbourhoods. If you are interested in helping host a clean-up; I can help promote it, hopfully attend it and I do have some 5 gallon pails and garbage pickers available to borrow – in addition to the cities garbage bags and gloves. Community clean-ups are also a great way for youth to gain mandatory highschool volunteer hours.
If you are planning a spring clean-up, the city can provide supplies such as gloves and garbage bags as part of the London Clean & Green community clean-up initiative. Please connect with us through the Get Involved Site (London Clean and Green | Get Involved London), we will have a fillable form to register a clean-up. Registering a clean-up also helps with identifying where the garbage pile will be for collection.
If the clean-up occurs before early April for the London Clean & Green campaign, please connect with me directly and I can assist with arranging for supplies and garbage removal. I also have a small supply of hard sided pails with handles and garbage grabbers to lend out for community use. As a bonus, community clean up volunteering counts towards High School Volunteer Hours should you know a youth who is interested in organizing an event or participating in one.
Thanks again to those who organize and participate for their clean-up efforts and for helping make London a cleaner city.
Grant Applications Now Open
City of London now accepting applications for Capital grants
The City of London is inviting local not-for-profit organizations to apply for Capital grants through the 2026 City of London Community Grants Program. The application deadline is Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 12 p.m.
This grant is designed for local not-for-profit organizations to expand their programs and services through capital renovations or land and facility purchases, directly benefiting Londoners by enhancing access to vital resources and opportunities. By supporting the growth of these initiatives, we can foster stronger communities, improve quality of life, and create lasting positive impact throughout the city. This year, $250,000 is available for Capital projects only. A $50,000 cap will be placed on all grants allocated to ensure broad impact.
About Capital grants
Capital grants are provided for projects that involve construction or the purchase of physical assets, including but not limited to, land, building and associated renovation costs that support increasing program/service space.
All grant applications are assessed based on their alignment with the City of London’s Strategic Plan, a demonstrated need for the project in the community, the cost and effectiveness of the project and the project’s contribution to the quality of life in the community.
For more information about the City of London Community Grants Program, including details about the application process and previous projects supported, visit the City of London Community Grants Program webpage

Ward 12 business highlight: Our Munchkin Childcare & STEM Preschool

A delight to stop by Our Munchkin Childcare & STEM Preschool celebrating its first anniversary in February. Our Munchkin offers childcare with a strong focus on early STEM learning for young children in our community. Families looking for licensed childcare are welcome to join the centre’s waitlist through the London ONE List .
The centre is also excited to be joining the Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care (CWELCC) program soon, which will make high-quality childcare more affordable for families. The Our Munchkin team is proud to support and serve local families. I appreciated the warm welcome, tour and the fingerprint art work to hang in my office!
